Racing to Save Lives
I am thrilled to be a part of the most impactful organization in the fight against cancer – The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training. I run and train with the Silicon Valley & Monterey Bay Chapter.
All of us on the team are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. Together we run, bike, swim, and hike at events around the world and the money we raise funds critical cancer research and patient care.
Why I Run Marathons
Training and finishing a marathon is incredibly challenging. However, all the individuals who are battling blood cancers are the real heroes on our team. And we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line – a cure! Please make a donation to help advance LLS’s mission and support me as I tackle this epic challenge. And remember to ask your employer if they match your donation. It’s an incredibly easy way to double the impact of your support.
We are all effected by cancer. I run in memory of Linda Gunn, my dear and loving friend. A huge part of who I am today and what I believe in is because of Linda, her husband Bob and the whole Gunn family. When I race, I do so to celebrate her and the best way I know how to help find a cure to a cancer that took her away from us too soon.
I am on the run again to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society raise much needed funding for cancer research and for patient care. I will be running in the 2012 Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC on October 28, 2012. Known as “The People’s Marathon”, the Marine Corps Marathon is a celebration of everything that makes America great.
Past Marathons and Events
Back in October 2011, I had the life-changing experience of completing my first Team in Training event, the 26.2 incredible miles of the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco. That first marathon would not be the last.
I also ran the 2012 Oakland Marathon just this past March. On a very hilly course I blew away my personal best time by over 30 minutes!
Then in May, I joined a team of fellow PayPal employees to run The Relay. This epic 199-mile run took us from Calistoga, CA over the Golden Gate Bridge and down to Santa Cruz. Amazing!
Thank you for your support!
